From Papa with Love!!

Hi Baby Girl!
Just a little Happy Birthday Wish from me to you. My guess is that you don't even know that today is so special to all of us, but someday you will. My heart was with you all day, and I really hope that somehow it was a special one for you. My birthday wish for you is that you are happy, healthy and patient. I hope that deep in your heart you know, somehow, that you will be home soon. I'm so ready for you, but for today we'll just have to wait a little longer for each other. I'll see you in 53 days! I love you!

Papa

Aidai's 4th Birthday

Tonight we celebrated Aidai's birthday. It was bittersweet because she is not here with us. It is also Kyrgyzstan Independence Day so we broke out the flag and yurt nativity as part of the celebration.

Next year I'm thinking bounce house, magician, clown, etc etc...

Our Dogs

I realized that we never really posted pictures of our bassets on here! So I'm finally introducing Charlie, Maggie and Snickers. We got them all through New England Basset Hound Rescue. Charlie and Maggie are pure basset and Snickers is a mix between Golden Retriever and Basset.

This is Charlie, he will be 8 in November. He's laying on a painting drop cloth, he will lay one anything that is on the floor. He lays on the scratchy welcome mat, the butcher paper I used to take photos of things on (for ebay), any random flat item on the floor. He's a total Mama's boy, we can tell time by him (he gets antsy around food time, walk time, and out time). He's a really sweet boy!

Maggie can be a real witch. She likes to think she's in charge and the other 2 let her think that most of the time. Sometimes she goes too far and then she finds out that she's actually not at the top of the totem pole. She's around 4 years old and grew up with Snickers in Tennessee. She's the one who is always wiggling her way, somehow, right into your face. This is usually accomplished by vaulting over any other dog, person, or item that is in the way.

Snickers is our big old teddy bear. She's got the best of the two personalities. She's a lazy bum like a basset but doesn't have the stubbornness! She loves to be petted all the time and will just come sit by you until you pet her. She's been known to whine until she's petted. She also attempts to lick your face any chance she gets. She also loves to instigate play with the other two.

More Aidai Info

Well it seems like info is coming quickly this week!

Today we were given Aidai's full name at birth as well as the full name of her borth mom. We were also told where her mom was from and where she was living when she gave birth. I was able to find the location on Google Earth and have found quite a few articles about her housing district. With this information we will be able to tell Aidai more about her birthmother and the struggles she was faced with.

Calling all locals!

We are hosting a "Bring Aidai Home Yardsale Fundraiser"

On Saturday September 13th we'll be putting out all our extra stuff and asking people to come by and take it away in exchange for a donation to our cause. We need some help raising the last piece of the funds to bring our baby home forever.

If you want to come by, email me for details. We are also accepting donations of items to sell! Let us know if youh ave anything and we will arrange pick-up.
